The directing duo of Peter and Michael Spierig have signed on to The Henson Company's upcoming Power of the Dark Crystal.
In a joint announcement by The Henson Company's CEO, Lisa Henson, and Omnilab Media's Christopher Mapp, said the Spierig brothers – who have directed the live-action films Undead and Daybreakers – will direct the sequel to Jim Henson's 1982 cult film The Dark Crystal. They will direct from a script by Craig Pearce (Moulin Rouge!, Strictly Ballroom, William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet) and using artistic concepts by Brian and Wendy Froud, who worked on the first film.
